CONFIGURABLE LINEAR MOTION COMPONENT
Ball splines are selected when the shaft must translate while also controlling or transmitting torque. Spline geometry and nut type must be matched; a generic shaft diameter alone is not enough for replacement work.
Selection data
| Motion function | Linear motion with torque transmission |
|---|---|
| Spline shaft | Diameter / length to be confirmed |
| Nut form | Cylindrical, flange or project-specific |
| Preload / clearance | Project-specific |
| End features | Machined ends, shoulders or threads by drawing |
| Environment | Sealing/lubrication options by duty |
Engineering note: Values shown as reference classes describe common market terminology, not a guaranteed stock list. Final dimensions, load ratings, accuracy/preload and interchangeability are confirmed against the application or drawing.
When this configuration fits
Use this family for indexing, handling, automation and telescoping mechanisms that need both linear guidance and rotational torque transfer.
What to send with your RFQ
Current model/drawing, shaft diameter and length, spline geometry if known, nut envelope, torque, radial load, travel speed, stroke and mounting orientation.
