Lubrication reduces friction and surface damage
The correct lubricant and replenishment interval depend on component type, speed, load, stroke, temperature and environment. Follow the selected component guidance rather than using a universal interval.
Wipers and seals are not optional decoration
Chip and dust ingress can damage raceways and screw tracks. Select protection based on particle type, direction of exposure and maintenance access.
Over-lubrication can create its own problems
Excess grease can increase drag or collect contamination. The goal is controlled delivery to the contact zone, not simply adding as much lubricant as possible.
Include the environment in the RFQ
Tell the supplier whether the axis sees chips, dust, humidity, washdown, unusual temperature or clean-area constraints so the sealing and material strategy can be evaluated.
