CONFIGURABLE LINEAR MOTION COMPONENT
A linear ball bearing provides low-friction rolling motion on a round shaft. Correct shaft quality, orientation, fit, sealing and lubrication are part of the system; selecting only by outside diameter can create premature wear or looseness.
Selection data
| Bearing architecture | Recirculating ball bushing for linear shaft |
|---|---|
| Common styles | Closed, open and adjustable |
| Housing | Bare bearing or pillow-block / flange housing |
| Shaft fit | Confirm shaft diameter and fit requirement |
| Sealing | Wiper/seal arrangement by contamination level |
| Lubrication | Initial and maintenance plan by duty |
Engineering note: Values shown as reference classes describe common market terminology, not a guaranteed stock list. Final dimensions, load ratings, accuracy/preload and interchangeability are confirmed against the application or drawing.
When this configuration fits
Use a ball bushing where a round shaft is preferred and the machine benefits from rolling contact rather than a plain polymer or sliding bushing.
